Double Negative

•March 30, 2011 • 5 Comments

Hey everybody I know it has been a really long time since I have posted anything! Last week was my spring break and was away in Florida for the whole week. But I decided to post my latest school non-digital photography assignment. The assignment was to take your pictures then choose two of your negatives to overlap then develop it yourself. That weekend I went to another zoo and decided to take my pictures there. Some of you might have read in an earlier post how one of my favorite animal is a zebra. So the first negative is a zebra then the second negative I choose was giraffe spots. I developed it, and this is how it turned out! I hope you like it and I will do my best to keep uploading on a regular basis. Especially since it’s starting to get warm 🙂

Oh and sorry about how its crooked. I had to have it mounted so when I tried to scan it into the computer, it didn’t exactly fit to well!

Nest

I found this bird in his nest outside of our hotel while visiting my sister. Some leaves accidentally got in the way so I was worried that the picture wouldn’t turn out as well, but it ended up making it look even more interesting I thought!

Graffiti

Hey everyone! I’m sorry it has taken me so long to upload another post. I have been crazy busy with school and other things, but this weekend I got the chance to finally go out and take some more pictures. My family went to see my sisters horse competition in Tennessee and while down there I got some cool picture opportunities! We visited the Nashville zoo, and I did finally get my zebra picture (I will be posting soon) and some other cool animal pictures. On the way back I saw this wall with a bunch of graffiti on it and that is something else I have always wanted a picture of so I pulled over and took some. Here is one of them! We didn’t have much time so I couldn’t get out of the car so it’s not the best picture, but since it has been a while I thought I would share it with all of you! I will be posting some more from this weekend very soon!

Festival

These are some pictures I took last semester for my black and white photography I class. Sorry for the poor quality, I had to scan them into the computer. I haven’t been able to go out and take pictures recently, so I wanted to upload some pictures that I took at our yearly fall festival.

Abandoned.

Have you ever been walking and walked upon an abandoned house or barn? Well this past weekend my father and I were out taking some pictures for my black and white non-digital photography class, but I also decided to bring my Canon Rebel digital camera just incase I found something interesting. Lets just say I’m glad I did! While driving by an old cemetery I looked over to see an old abandoned house with all of its windows knocked out. Next thing I know I was twisting the door knob and walking inside. It was filled with old wallpaper and a few random things but the most interesting/creepy thing I found was an old hospital bed in the middle of a room. While taking the picture the front door was blown shut by the wind, it wasn’t much longer and I was leaving! After being happy with what I found and the pictures I got, I was then on a hunt to find some more houses! The next place we went to was an old abandoned house and barn. Behind the barn we found tons of old trucks and some other cool old cars just covered with vines. It’s cool that you can find things that are left behind in the wildest places, I love exploring!

Beep Beep!

These two pictures are of two old cars. The top one is of an old van and the bottom one is of an old beat up truck. I thought they looked interesting with all the dents and rust! Hope you like them 🙂

Winter Stable

These are some shots I took on one of my many snowdays the past few weeks. I live down the street from a barn that I used to keep my horses at. I was excited when I woke up and realized it would be a good day to take some snowy barn pictures. The top picture is of an old tractor. It sits there everyday and no one thinks a thing about it, but I thought it was the perfect subject to take a picture of. It had rust, chipped paint, old ratted flat tires and snow! And well the horse, I just like horses. Hope you like them!

Don’t burst my bubble!

I’m posting this for Taylor (asmalltowndad) because she out-of-town but wanted something new posted.  This was an experiment that she had seen on another blog and so talked me into to helping her on these.  This is a vegetable oil mixed with water and food coloring.  All three are mixed in a glass bowl and then we moved a spot light at different angles to capture the highlights.  The green was taken from the side looking underneath the bubble, and the blue  from the top.  That’s all I know, all the camera lingo will have to come from her.

She’s loving all the help and comments, and I also want to thank everyone that has visited and commented.

Walking on the Ohio

•January 10, 2011 • 11 Comments

Although it was 27 degrees outside, my dad and I decided to go take some sunset shots on the Ohio River. I was excited to get some simple silhouette shots with the beautiful sunset!

Also I am interested in getting colored filters, but I have never used them. If you  have any suggestions on whether or not I should get some or even any tips, it would be greatly appreciated!
